Sensitive teeth
are usually caused by exposed dentin, the layer next to the
enamel. A lot of things can cause dentin to be exposed. One
most common is improper tooth brushing method. Too much
pressure applied during tooth brushing using a hard bristled
toothbrush causes abrasion on the enamel layer, exposing the
dentin layer beneath it. Accidental biting on hard
substances can also bruise the tooth. Another cause of tooth
sensitivity is exposure of the root portion of the tooth due
to gingival recession.
Sensitive Teeth Remedy
Try not to use hard bristled
toothbrushes and not to brush your teeth too hard. In this
case you can wear down the tooth’s root surface and this way
it will appear sensitive spots.
Avoid eating food-containing
acids.
Sometimes, drinking diet sot
drinks several times a day may cause sensitivity.
Sometimes, depending of your
toothpaste, tartar control can cause tooth sensitivity.
Try to use a desensitizing
toothpaste which will block the tubes from the teeth that
are connected to nerves , thus protecting the exposed dentin
. Generally, the relief is noticed after using specialized
products in this domain for more than a fortnight.
The desensitizing toothpastes
contain fluoride and potassium nitrate or strontium
chloride. You can be more benefited if you can massage the
toothpaste with your fingers onto your gums after brushing.
You can consult a dentist, that may recommend you a solution
for a protective coating on your teeth.
Try to brush your teeth with
warm water. |
