Fluoride toothpaste

As long as your toothpaste contains fluoride, the brand you want to buy does not matter, because all of them have essentially the same ingredients in it’s paste or gel, sometimes in powder form, or containing a certain flavor. The excess of fluoride whether through toothpaste, fluoridated water, supplements, or a combination of these can cause a premise for children known as dental fluorosis, which results in time with unsightly discoloration of the teeth. Fluorosis can be treated and removed by bleaching the teeth, the best thing to avoid, is the condition in the first place.

The condition is particularly a serious problem for kids below age 6, whose permanent teeth are growing, even though they have not yet erupted through the gums.

For the kids from non fluoridated areas, most fluorosis is attributable to excess by  fluoride extra use, brushing more than once a day with a fluoride toothpaste till the age of  2 years old, and using large amount of toothpaste quantity.
